Learning Accessibility

Designers, developers, and content editors should keep accessibility in mind when working on their websites. To support the Web Accessibility Policy, Yale offers accessibility training and resources. Check this site frequently, as we will add to it regularly.

Training information is available at Yale’s Accessibility Training page.

To understand why accessibility is important, see the Introduction to Accessibility. These pages explain what kinds of disabilities impact web use and how people with disabilities use the web.

For an introduction to techniques and practices, see Yale’s Accessibility Concepts pages.

For a summary of accessibility criteria, see Yale’s summary of the WCAG guidelines. These criteria are also filterable by role. More checklists are available on our Accessibility Testing Procedures page.
